A Lithophane ("Vision in Stone") is a porcelain engraving that when illuminated from behind forms a beautiful, sepia-toned image. Lithophanes were first invented in France in 1827 and were popular in the Victorian era. The panel of this nightlight features 2 baby bunnies sitting on a tree stump with daisies in the background. It is slightly curved with a weave-look frame when lighted. This version of our Baby Bunnies porcelain night light is set in an intricately detailed Victorian stand in an antique brass finish. This lovely accent lamp is based on the original candle lit frames that were used to display Lithophanes in the 19th century. It measures approximately 9 x 4 inches (22.86 x 10.16 cm) and comes complete with a 6 ft (1.83 m) cord. Uses a 25 watt bulb (included) and requires some assembly (very easy; instructions are enclosed).
